thoughts on the word alien and extra-terrestrial life

when you think about it we refer to life on other planets as aliens, but if there is intelligent life wouldn't they call us aliens or at least a word that means alien in their language. so to say if an alien does come to our planet we'd have to give them a name or they'd give us the name of their species, meaning they're not really aliens anymore just like when we find out what a UFO (unidentified flying object) is theyre not a UFO anymore, i have too much time on my hands to think of this stuff
